Katie Ruppert is actually a Chicago based comic, character actress and writer who is currently exploring new mediums to display her work and personal aesthetic. In her work she likes to explore historical themes, fairy tales, mythology and family dynamics.
Katie is a San Francisco/Bay Area native currently embarking on the year long Second City Conservatory program, while finishing her B.A. in Comedy Writing and Performance at the first college or university in the United States that offers it, Columbia College Chicago. She graduated with high honors from Foothill College in 2014 with an A.A. in Theatre Arts, and completed the Foothill Theatre Conservatory 2-year professional training program in 2013. During her second year of Conservatory training, she was appointed producer of the Foothill Players Brown Bag Theatre for the 2012-2013 school year, where she honed her love of writing sketch comedy. After Conservatory she was propositioned to write the Foothill College Theatre Department's One Act Play Festival in 2014, titled "Greek Myth Comedy" and worked for the touring dinner theatre company, "Look Out World Events" from 2013-2015 as a performer and an assistant director. She was also part of the closing cast of the acclaimed San Francisco immersive theatre experience "The Speakeasy" at the Boxcar Theatre in 2014, later returning to their private nightclub in 2015. As a celebrity impressionist, Katie is proud to say she has played Sarah Palin, Lucille Ball, Snow White & Queen Elizabeth I all over the Bay Area.
Katie recently appeared in "Requiem For a Meme" on the Second City E.T.C. stage as part of the Fall 2016 Comedy Studies final showcase, and is a company member at Mass St. Productions, in Chicago. In her free time Katie loves to do improv & hone her stand-up comedy, think about princesses (real and fictional), study history, collect dolls, eat excessively & go to bed early.
